Overview of the Research Center
Nursing Course, Department of Health Sciences, Graduate School of Medicine, Kyushu University
Research Center for Nursing Innovation and Implementation, Kyushu University (RCNII)
Founding Philosophy
Social conditions related to people’s health include a declining birthrate, a super-aging society, rising medical costs, and an increase in patients with chronic diseases. In order to address these issues, it is necessary to proactively prevent diseases, strengthen the self-care abilities of each individual, and realize an accommodating and inclusive society. To meet such social demands, the Research Center will collaborate with the Nursing Course, Department of Health Sciences, Graduate School of Medicine, Kyushu University, and the Department of Nursing, Kyushu University Hospital. In addition, the Research Center will strategically promote the development and social implementation of innovative nursing practice by conducting joint research with other organizations and interdisciplinary research with different fields.
Objectives
- Establish evidence-based nursing (EBN) through joint research with the Department of Nursing, Kyushu University Hospital, companies, and local governments towards social implementation in on-site/clinical settings
- Standardize nursing practice and disseminate the nursing of the Kyushu University in Japan and overseas through the accumulation of research at this center
- Develop young researchers able to promote interdisciplinary research, as well as research for social implementation
- Hold seminars and public lectures for local residents and medical professionals, present research results at this center, and give back to the local community
